Federal Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, Islamabad (FBISE) will start taking papers of FBISE Practical Based Assessment for class 9 and class 11 from 1st Annual Examination 2024. The purpose of these papers is to ensure that every student has done all the practicals included in the syllabus.
FBISE Practical Based Assessment (PBA)
FBISE Practical Based Assessment (PBA) papers will have the following specifications:
- The PBA paper will have two parts, Section A and Section B. Each section will have one question with multiple parts.
- In Section A, Question No. 1 will be about one experiment from Part I of the practicals list.
- Section B’s Question No. 2 will be about several experiments from Part II of the practicals list.
- 60% of the PBA paper will focus on Part I practicals, while 40% will focus on Part II practicals.
- If asked, draw diagrams.
- In the new practical assessment pattern (PBA), marks won’t be given for practical notebooks or oral exams. However, students can write down procedures, observations, and calculations on plain paper or in a practical folder to remember everything for the PBA Exam.
- All prescribed practicals must be performed in the labs throughout the academic year. Only students who complete these practicals as required will be allowed to take the PBA Exam.
